György Palásthy ( Esztergom , January 12 , 1931 – Budapest , April 16, 2012 ) Hungarian film director and screenwriter, winner of the Béla Balázs Prize . His parents were Sándor Palásthy and Anna Blahovics. He was studying electrical engineering when he won a literary competition at the age of 16. In 1950, he was admitted to the Academy of Theater and Film Arts , where he graduated in 1954 with a degree in film directing. He then became an employee of Mafilm .
